A small overview of PPC advertising
PPC (Pay per Click) advertising is not only a great way of advertising, it is cost effective. Usually when you advertise online you pay every single time your advert is displayed. Not only that, you pay when it is displayed to audiences you may not be targeting. It seems like a waste really. Whereas with Pay per Click, you can target specific keywords and only pay when the advert is clicked on. This means you are reaching and paying for only the people who are genuinely interested in what your website contains. These are the people who have been looking for what you offer therefore you are only paying to reach who you want to and cutting out the people who aren’t interested. Hence saving money. Pay per Click Helps not only small businesses become more known but it is also used by multinational companies to advertise.
There are various different types of Pay per Click options. You could use Google ads, this is a target driven ad, you pay for keywords and each keyword has a different click price depending on how many people are searching it and how many other business are using it. Google is the most used search engine on the internet and the internet is the most viewed media and form of advertising there is, so you can imagine how beneficial using Pay per Click is through Google ads.
Another option is Facebook ads. What Facebook will do is collect all of a person’s data. Everything from what they have written in their about me section, to what they say on their status or become a fan of. They then use the data to target adverts that they think people will like and is relevant to their interests. This means if you have a ladies shoe store for example and your target audience is usually teenage girls, Facebook will then find girls in their teens who may have mentioned they like fashion or shoes in their interests and post your add to the right hand side of her page. The good thing is, you don’t pay for advertising unless that girl clicks on your advert. So not only are you targeting who you want to target but you will see the difference in what you spend and how much you earn.
Unlike other optimizing techniques an Adword campaign can be up and running and showing results in a matter of days. You will see the benefits fast and is perfect if your business has been lagging recently. It is a quick fix if you cannot be bothered to work on SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). It’s a guarantee you website will be seen by someone as opposed to being on page 20 of Google.
The more money you are willing to spend on an Adword campaign the better. You will see a lot more come out of it and a lot more people will visit your site. This means (if you are selling services or goods) that you are more likely to sell more. And if it is an info site, the information is being seen by a lot more people and again, only the target audience you require.
