Creating Your First Information Product
Creating your own information product has many different benefits, and is very easy to do. If you have been thinking about this but haven’t known where to start, or are not sure of the steps involved then read on! I am going to go over a quick guide which will show you what to do to get your first product created.
In this article, I am going to go over how to create an E book, which is the easiest product to create. If you are just getting started in product creation, then you are going to want to create this kind of product. Later on you can learn how to create audio and video products.
Below are the steps you want to follow in order to create your E book.
1. Find your niche market:
Like any internet business model, you are going to have to figure out what market you want to work in. You are going to have to find a niche where people are starving hungry for what you have to offer.
Doing this will take some research. You won’t want to move forward until you know exactly who your target market is. If you do, then you are in for certain disaster. So do your market research and figure out who your starving hungry market is first.
2.Getting ideas for chapters:
After finding your niche market, you are going to have to figure out what you are going to put in your E book. How do you know what chapters to put in it? The first thing you want to put in it is an introduction telling your readers who you are and what you are going to tell them. It doesn’t have to be long, just a quick summary of what you are doing.
You need to know what people want answers to within your niche, so we go over to “Yahoo Answers” for this. This is a great resource to find out what people want answers to in any given market. All you do is type in the market phrase you have decided on into the search bar. What you need to do from here is search through the different results and find out what the main questions or subjects that are being brought up are.
The number of chapters you pick for your product depends on how many different questions are asked, but you should try to create at least 5 or 6 chapters with good content. Make note of these 5 or 6 questions being asked, as these will be the chapters of your new E book. Catchy title names do the best and keep your readers attention.
3.Creating the actual E book:
Now you are ready to start writing your chapters. This is also going to take a bit of research on your part. Find different articles about your particular subject and start reading.
The best place to find content is different article directories and forums. There is more than enough information already written on every subject under the sun that you should have no problem finding good content.
All you have to do from here is start writing your E book based on the articles you have found. You don’t want to copy anything word for word. You should use the content you have found only as a guide in writing your chapters so you don’t get hit for plagiarism.
4.Putting it altogether:
After you have each chapter written, you are going to want to put them together in order and put the whole book in a PDF format. If you have a PDF creator like adobe this shouldn’t be any problem for you at all. If you don’t have adobe or some kind of PDF creator, you can go to http://openoffice.org and download the whole suite of “office” products. The open office writer is much like Microsoft “Word” except that it will create your PDF files for you where Word will not.
You can copy and paste the whole E book into a fresh open office document and save it as a PDF file onto your hard drive. It’s that easy. You now have a product you can either give away for free or sell.
This has been a very brief overview of how to create a simple information product. I hope this inspires you to really look into creating your own product. It isn’t that hard to do and is very worth the time and effort. People have made much money by just creating E books and selling them. I hope that you will be one of them in the future!
